About

Born in Budapest,
built for Europe.

Europe’s tax and legal systems are fragmented, contradictory and always changing. We’re building the co-worker that makes working across them feel like working in one.

The story

azta started in November 2024 with a question Márk couldn’t get answered. A tax question about his own small business — and under the same posts in accountants’ forums, completely contradictory answers. ChatGPT and Claude answered confidently, and wrongly, inventing citations along the way.

The founding insight followed: what professionals need isn’t an AI that answers — it’s a research tool that always shows which source it used. The first prototype was tested by a practising accountant, who failed it on ninety questions out of a hundred. That test became the bar: azta doesn’t ship an answer it can’t cite.

The rest is the “built for Europe” part. When investors said a Hungarian tax AI couldn’t scale, the team assembled the entire Polish tax corpus in five days — site, localization and a two-thousand-question test included — and had Polish users by Friday night. Today azta covers 20 European jurisdictions, grounded in a structured corpus of over 22 million legal documents, verified continuously by people who do the job.

  1. 11.2024The founding question: contradictory forum answers, hallucinating chatbots — and the idea of research that always cites its source.
  2. 2025azta’s own European legal codex is assembled from official gazettes, statute by statute, version by version.
  3. 02.2026Poland built in five days for a pitch competition — the blueprint for every market entry since.

A co-worker,
checked by humans who do the job.

azta’s research is built and verified by practising tax advisors, lawyers and engineers — not prompt writers. The reason it’s defensible is that people who carry liability themselves decide what “right” looks like.
