Three ways in

Search, browse
or ask.

The search bar has three modes. Pick the one that matches what you already know.

  1. 01

    Search

Citations, law names and keywords across every country at once. Results are grouped into exact match, matching provisions, legislation, case law and guidance, with country and type facets.

  2. 02

    Filter by country

Browse one country's law list by type, year and in-force status. Useful when you do not yet know what to search for in a foreign legal system.

  3. 03

    Ask the AI

Describe the issue in your own words. This research mode returns relevant provisions and source references for you to open and assess. Use the azta assistant when you want an explanation or a drafted answer.

AI search

Ask in English,
find it in German law.

When you do not know the local legal terminology, describe the issue in your own language and name the country you need. AI search suggests a scope and searches in the source language. You decide which results are relevant.

  1. 01You askType a question or a topic and press Enter. Typing alone runs the instant search; the AI runs only when you submit.
  2. 02Atlas shows what it understoodThe countries and kinds of law it inferred appear as chips under "AI understood". Remove any that do not fit.
  3. 03Matching provisionsUp to three highlighted passages from the provisions themselves, not just act titles. One click opens the reader at that paragraph.

Matching provisions search versions marked as in force in Atlas. The underlying collection can be older than today; check coverage and source dates.

References

Which decisions cite
this provision?

Follow a provision into the decisions and guidance linked to it, where available. References show what the provision cites and what cites it, with snippets to help you choose what to read next. The links support your research; they are not a complete record of every relevant decision.

Good to know

Before you rely on a result

  • The free search matches titles and citations

AI search, matching provisions, references and copy with citation are part of Atlas. On the free reader the controls are visible, with a lock.

  • References are richest for Hungarian law

Reference extraction is thinner outside Hungary, so a foreign provision may show fewer citing decisions.

  • Coverage has limits

Searches find CJEU judgments and EDPB guidance, but not EU directives and regulations. Collections can be older than today: the snapshot ends at 31 December 2024 for Polish legislation and 11 July 2025 for French legislation.
