The situation
A consumer loan product, its app flow and its first advert
Your lending company in Prague is launching a 3 to 24 month instalment loan in an app, in Czech and Polish, with the first Polish campaign set for January. Product has the screens, legal has the contract template, and nobody has checked what the customer sees before signing against both countries’ consumer credit acts.
The core rules come from one directive. The hours go on the national layer: the form and timing of the standard information, the representative example in adverts, the creditworthiness check, what an app screen must show and what happens if something is missing. In Poland, a missing item can cost the lender all interest and charges on the loan.
What the research has to settle
The rules behind the answer
- Standard information before the contract
- The creditor must give the consumer the standard European consumer credit information, on the prescribed form, in good time before the consumer is bound. A summary on screen does not replace it.
- Adverts need a representative example
- Advertising that states an interest rate or any figure on the cost of credit must include the standard information, illustrated by a representative example. A January campaign has to meet this in each country.
- The revised directive applies from November 2026
- The revised Consumer Credit Directive applies from 20 November 2026 and brings some products into scope that were previously outside it. Whether and how each country has transposed it is something the research confirms before launch.
- Sanctions are national and can be heavy
- Polish law lets a consumer repay only the capital, without interest and charges, where the lender breaches certain information duties, and that sanction has produced a large body of case law. Czech law sets its own consequences, including for a deficient creditworthiness assessment.
How it runs in azta
From the question to the document
The question, as you would type it
Czech lender launching a 3 to 24 month instalment loan by app in Poland and the Czech Republic. What pre-contract information must we give and when, what must our adverts show, and what sanctions apply if an item is missing? Note anything that changes in November 2026.

Instalment loan: pre-contract information, Poland
Before the contract. The app presents the standard information form, completed for the customer’s chosen amount and term, before the customer accepts. The form can be downloaded and is sent by email with the contract. Items 1 to 18 of the checklist map each field to the provision and to the screen where it appears.
Adverts. The January campaign states a monthly instalment, so each advert must include the standard information with a representative example. The agency brief in Annex 2 sets out the wording and how it must be displayed.
Risks. A missing or incorrect item in the contract can let the customer repay the capital only. Items marked red carry that risk and must be fixed before launch. The changes due under the revised directive are listed separately in section 5.

Frequently asked questions
- Does azta hold the Polish and Czech supervisors’ guidance?
- No. For Poland and the Czech Republic it holds legislation and court decisions, not the supervisors’ material. Check their guidance separately.
- Will it cover the revised directive?
- Yes. The revised Consumer Credit Directive is in the corpus, and national legislation is indexed daily, so you can see whether a transposing act is in force.
- Can several of us review the checklist?
- On Enterprise, shared workspaces keep the research and drafts for a launch together, with access by membership.
